MFT Sketch Challenge - Birthday Bear!

Hello Everyone,

Today's card was made for the My Favourite Things Sketch Challenge. I used the Beary Special Birthday stamp and die set for my card. I have just started doing these challenges and I am loving getting creative to come up with something really neat.

For this card, I used Neenah white classic crest 80lb cardstock for the A2 card base. I used a smaller piece of the same cardstock and stamped it with the MFT Balloon Strings background and VersaMark Ink. I then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I used Distress Oxide in scattered straw and worn lipstick to make the background. I used pink Bazill Basics paper to make the scalloped circle and used the Scalloped circle MFT die to cut out the circle shape. I used a specialty paper from Michaels Recollections cardstock with foil pink hearts on it. I colored the bear with Copic markers and used Glossy Accents on the balloon to give it some dimension. I added the sentiment from the Beary Special Birthday stamp set on white cardstock, using the MFT Stitched Sentiment Strips die.

I think this card would be perfect for a small child's birthday. These little bears are super cute just like the sentiments that come with it! Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!!

Ham it Up! It's a Piggy Birthday Card!

Hello Everyone,

Today's card is from My Favourite Things stamp and dies set called Hog Heaven. This set comes with 5 different pigs for different occasions, birthday, love, missing you, etc. There is also an assortment of different sentiments, such as miss you pig time, you hog my heart and thank you sow much. It also has some decorator stamps such as flowers, cupcakes, and a fence.

For this card, I used Neenah Classic Crest white 80lb cardstock for the A2 card. I used a Lawn Fawn patterned cardstock for both backgrounds. I used the Blueprints 29 Die-namics from My Favourite Things for the frame around the pigs and for the white stitched background. I stamped the fence on to the cardstock and then colored it using Copic markers. Once it dried, I covered the fence and grass with rubber cement. Once the rubber cement had dried I used Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers and made clouds in the background. Then I used a rubber cement eraser and removed the rubber cement from the fence and grass. I die cut out the pigs and then cut the white edge that is around them off. I used Distress Oxide - Worn Lipstick on the sentiment background and stamped the Squeal sentiment and embossed it with black embossing powder.

I colored the pigs using Copic markers and added the white highlights with a Gelly Roll white pen. I also used the Gelly Roll pen to add the polka-dots to the bow in the one pig's ear. Inside I stamped the Ham It Up on Your Birthday sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Floundering Fishes! This Card is Making a Splash!

Hello Everyone,

My card today is from a stamp and die set from My Favourite Things, called Birdie Brown Gill Friends. This cute set comes with all kinds of different fish, also seaweed, plants and different sentiments to add to your cards.

For this card, I made an A2 card out of Neenah Classic Crest White 80lb cardstock. I blocked the top and bottom with a one-inch piece of cardstock and taped it down. Then I used Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers and created the blue sea background.

I added the stamped plants in Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Lime Green and Gina K. Ink in Lucky Clover.  The middle plant is stamped using Gina K. Ink in Peach Bellini. I colored the fish using Copic markers and die cut them out with the coordinating die set.

Some of the fish have foam adhesive squares on the back of them and some are just adhered to the card using Sookwang double sided adhesive. I added lily white glitter sprinkles from Doodlebug Designs to add the look of bubbles to the card and stamped the sentiment on the bottom using My Favourite Things hybrid ink in Black Licorice.

I stamped a small sentiment inside that says "tank you". I love the way this card turned out. I really can't wait to use this stamp set again! Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Have a Beary Nice Birthday Card!

Hello Everyone!

Today's card is a sweet birthday bear card, using the Beary Special Birthday stamp and die set from My Favourite Things. This set comes with a few different Birthday bears and they are all as cute as a button!

I used pink cardstock for the base card and a polka dot paper from Lawn Fawn. I used the die set Blueprints 29 from My Favourite Things to make the white background and frame. I colored the backgrounds with Distress Ink Wilted Violet, Peacock Feathers, and Twisted Citron. I heat embossed the Suprise sentiment with black embossing powder. I used Copic markers to color in the presents and the bear.

This is an A2 size card, which I have come to really enjoy making. I usually make a 5x7 card, but find that many of the special dies you can get for card making are meant for an A2 card. I really love the stitched look on these frame dies from MFT, they just add that little bit extra on the card.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Up in the Air Balloon Card

Hello Everyone,

This amazing shaker card (which are my new favourite card to make) is made using the super cute stamp and dies set from My Favourite Things called Up in the Air. It comes with so many animals and balloons and accesories to make your cards burst with awesomeness!

I just love this stamp set. I used the MFT Stitched Rectangle Frames to cut out the frame around the card and coloured the balloon and elephant with my Copic markers. I used Distress Ink Peacock Feathers to make the clouded sky and Distress Ink Twisted Citron to make the grass. I filled my shaker card with silver stars and chunky glitter from Michaels. I used Kraft cardstock and white 110lb cardstock from Michaels Recollections.

This stamp set has so many possibilities, I can't wait to make another one using this set. Check out My Favourite Things to purchase this stamp and die set. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

My new Favourite Thing is My Favourite Things Stamps and Dies!

Hello Everyone!

It's been so long since I've posted, but Christmas was super busy. New year, new posts and new stamps! I have fallen in love with My Favourite Things Stamps and Dies. My visa isn't happy but I sure am!

Today's card is from the stamp and dies set called The Whole Herd. This cute little set features different farmyard animals, hay, boxes, and other farmyard items.

This is an A2 shadow box card, which I absolutely love! The horse pattern paper is from Doodlebug Designs and it's perfect for my barn animals card. I used Copic markers to color in the animals and hay. I used the My Favourite Things Stitched Sentiments Strips and stamped the "hay there" sentiment that came with The Whole Herd stamp set.

Inside is the shadow box pop up card as featured in the YouTube video here by the talented Jennifer McGuire. I used the die from MFT Die-namics Rolling Hills to make the picket fence in the background. I love how this card turned out, but I do recommend using a lighter weight paper when making the shadow box card.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy and happy crafting!
