MFT Color Challenge #110 - Cool Cats Card

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I made today's card for the My Favourite Things color challenge. They give you four colors that you must incorporate in your card. The imaginative creation is all up to you! This challenge used the following colors.

Normally I don't buy the cardstock for these challenges, but I was really curious about their cardstock and I must say, I was not disappointed!! The MFT cardstock is of excellent quality and heavy too! Perfect for cardmaking. I loved the colors that were chosen for this challenge. So here is the card that I created for the challenge.

For this card, I used the wild wisteria cardstock and cut it to an A2 card size (4.25 x 5.5). I used Neenah White Classic Crest 80lb cardstock to make the first layer. Then I used this fun patterned paper from Close to My Heart that incorporated the grout grey color. I die cut a scalloped circle using the MFT Scalloped circle die set and used the MFT inside/outside stitched circle die to cut out the smaller white circle. I cut a one-inch piece of tickled pink cardstock and stamped it with the MFT paw print background stamp in Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Bubble Gum Pink. I then used my white Gelly Roll pen to make the little dots and cut the end to the ribbon point. I used the MFT Cool Cat stamp set and colored the image with Copic markers. I die cut out the image using the coordinating dies and added foam adhesives to the back to make it stand out. I added the sentiment from the same stamp set using MFT Hybrid Ink in Black Licorice. For the finishing touches, I added cupcake glitter sprinkles from Doodlebug designs.

I hope you like my card design as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting! Want to join the challenge? Click here!

Turnabout Stamps will Have you Turning Your Head!

Hello Everyone,

Today's card features the Concord and 9th turnabout stamp. If you don't know what a turnabout stamp is, it's a unique stamp that allows you to stamp in 4 different colors to create a beautiful background on any card. I recently discovered these stamps in an instructional video by the very talented Jennifer McGuire from Jennifer McGuire Ink that featured the Concord and 9th Lovely Blossoms stamp set. I loved it so much that I ordered it and made this beautiful card.

This stamp set was relatively easy to use and the results were amazing. To make this card to cut a piece of Neenah White Classic Crest 80lb cardstock to 11 x 4.25 and scored it at 5.5 and 2.75. I used my Misti stamping tool and stamped the image using the following inks:

  • Hero Arts Shadow Ink - Soft Vanilla
  • Hero Arts Shadow Ink - Lime Green (Mid-tone)
  • Gina K. Designs - Lucky Clover
  • Gina K. Designs - Sea Glass

Once I had the image stamped, I cut out a scalloped circle using MFT Scalloped Circles dies. I cut out the "you are lovely" using my Cricut. I cut out 2 of each in white cardstock, then one of each word in the colors shown in the photographs. I layered them to look thick and have some dimension. I also cut out a white circle to go on top of the blue scalloped circle and glued the words on top with Tombow Aqua mono liquid glue. I punched out a small heart and used Glossy Accents to give it that little, added touch.

I repeated the same circle on the inside and added my sentiment, which is from the MFT Beary Special Birthday stamp set. I added some small pearl stick on accents as the final touch. I am so happy with how lovely this card came out. If you'd like to see the instructional video for this card, click on the link here.
