2021 Card Design Superstar Challenge for MFT - Coloring Virtuoso!

 Hello Everyone!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are all well. My post today is extra special because it's my card entry for the annual My Favorite Things Superstar Card Design challenge.

This year for Coloring Virtuoso, I created a card using the MFT - Hanging with my Gnomies stamps and the MFT - Gnome Place Like Home die set.

For this card, I started with a card base using Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock. The back ground uses the MFT - Mini Clouds stencil and Ranger Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers.

I wanted to hand color every aspect I could with this card. In order to do that I die cut the cottage and the accesories on Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock. For the Gnome Cottage, I created the stone walls by first drawing them out with pencil lightly and then going over it with Copic Markers (W7, W5, W3) to create the stones. I die cut the windows with blue tinted vellum. For the roof I wanted to create a folded flower affect. So I drew petals and then colored everything in using Copic Markers (R85, RV32, RV02). I added texture to the cottage door to give it a more dimentional look.

Once I had the cottage created, I started on the design for the rest of the card. I added three strips of cardstock cut using the MFT - Slimline Grassy Hills. I drew a path leading from the door to the cottage and colored it using Copic markers. The green grass colored background is created using Ranger Distress Oxide ink in Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness. All of the die cut pieces for the stones and grass bits are from the MFT - Gnome Place Like Home die set. I colored everything in individually and added the pieces to the card.

I colored the gnomes with Copic markers and fussy cut them out so I wouldn't have the white edge surrounding them. I added some small details to add dimention to the flowers and grass. I stamped the sentiment on MFT - Black Licorice cardstock in white MFT - Sweet Tooth ink. I heat embossed the sentiment, which comes from the MFT - Hanging with My Gnomies stamp set.

I am very proud of this card, a lot of hard work went into it. I hope you like it too. As always, thank you for stopping by, stay safe and stay crafty!
