Upsy Daisy Baby Card

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome. Today I have a cute baby card for you. This was my first time using Karen Burniston's Upsy Daisy die set and I can tell it's going to be used quite a lot!!

For this card, I started with an A2 sized card base using a cream colored smooth cardstock. Then I added some pretty paper from Echo Park called Special Delivery: Baby. I added some trim pieces to the top and bottom using the same patterned paper only adding a dark brown color underneath.

Then I die cut the pop up mechanisms using the same cream colored cardstock. I glued them into my card using Lineco Neutral pH adhesive in a fine tip bottle. I die cut the scalloped squares adding dark brown cardstock to them to add the trim around the inner square.

I stamped the images using Lawn Fawn's Little Bundle stamp set and added some masking paper to add the clothes line in behind the cute little clothes.

I die cut the banner from the Upsy Daisy Pop-Up and stamped the welcome sentiment using VersaMark Ink and white embossing powder. Then I used Karen Burniston's Baby Charms to added the little blocks that say baby. I also used the Baby Charms to die cut the duck and bottle that I placed beside the bottom sentiment. This sentiment comes from Honey Bee Stamps Welcome Baby Sentiments.

I just love how this card turned out! The Upsy Daisy was perfect for this baby card. Thank you so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

Popcorn Horror Movie Card!

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome! If you're into horror movies then this is the right card for you! I love horror movies! Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Child's Play, etc. So when I seen that Sassy Club Stamps had all my favourite horror movie serial killers I just had to buy them!

Not only did I need to make a card with these stamps, but a pop-up card!! So I created this card using Karen Burniston's Spinner Square Pop-Up along with her Popcorn die set. Because you can't watch a movie without some popcorn!

For this card, I started with an A2 side fold card base using heavy weight smooth black cardstock. Then I created my background. I cut two pieces of heavy weight smooth white cardstock, 1/8 of an inch smaller than my card base.

I added some removable tape runner to the back of each piece and taped them down to my work table. This was I could work on them together and they won't move. With a ruler, I drew a line where I wanted my floor to be. Then I stamped my two images. I added masking paper to the images so that they wouldn't get touched while colouring the background.

I wanted the background to look like weathered, torn wallpaper. If you've ever seen the movie IT (the newer one) then you remember the aged look of the house on Neilbot St. I wanted it to also have a fun house feel to it as well. So I drew everything out with pencil, then coloured it with Copic markers. Before I started colouring the background, I masked off the floor area.

Then, once I had the background coloured in, I removed the tape masking the floor and moved it up to cover the background so I could add ink for the floor. I used Simon Says Stamps Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Cappuccino and Mocha with a blending brush.

I removed the masking paper from my images and coloured them in with Copic markers. I then added the two background pieces to my card base using double sided adhesive.

I die cut the pop-up mechanism for the Spinner Square Pop-Up from a light weight cardstock and glued it into my card base. Then I die cut the square that covers over the pop-up mechanism and created the same background as the card base.

I die cut the popcorn box using Karen Burniston's Flower Pot Pop-Up and added the Popcorn Add-Ons to it. I added some Distress Ink in Antique Linen to the sides of the flower pot and then die cut the popcorn box add-ons from red cardstock that I had in my left over stash.

I used Karen Burniston's Popcorn Phrases sentiment stamp set to add the pop out sentiment. Then I die cut a scalloped square from the Spinner Square Pop-Up to add a place to sign the card. I die cut the popcorn from smooth white heavy weight cardstock, once with a double sided adhesive backing on it and once just loose. I coloured the popcorn in with Copic markers and added the non sticky ones to my popcorn box, then added the sticky backed ones to the card where it was completely on the background of the card.

For the front of the card, I drew a line where I wanted the horror movie crew to be, then stamped the images and added masking paper as I went.

Then I added the background colours, which I used Simon Says Stamps Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Guava, Watermelon and Cherry. Then I removed the masking paper and coloured my images in with Copic markers.

I die cut and coloured more popcorn, adding the double sided adhesive to the back to make it easier to adhere to my card. Lastly, I stamped another sentiment from Karen Burniston's Popcorn Phrases sentiment stamp set and Detail Black Ink from Pink Fresh Studios.

I am in LOVE with this card! I'm not sure whether or not I will send it to my friend or not. Lol. Thank you so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

Easter Mushroom House Pop-Up Card

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome! I have another Easter card for you today. This card uses Karen Burniston's Tiny House Pop-Up and Mushroom Tiny House Add-On to create this super cute card.

For this card, I started with an A2 sized card base using a heavy weight smooth white cardstock. This is a 100 pack from Michaels card stock and I use it for card bases only. I found some pretty patterned paper that looked grass like with little flowers on it in my stash and used it for the background. I added some other patterned paper from my scrap drawer to the sides of the card and added a strip of yellow glitter card stock I got from Michaels.

I die cut the Tiny House Pop-Up house base from a cream coloured cardstock and added some Distress Ink in Antique Linen to the house to give it some dimension. Then I die cut the pieces for the Mushroom Tiny House Add-On using scrap cardstock I had on hand. I added white Gelly Pen to the mushroom roof to create the spots. I added the door, windows and flower boxes to my house. Then I added the roof.

I glued the house into my card, making sure to let the glue set before opening it to check that it worked well. I die cut the stepping stones from smooth white cardstock, adding double sided adhesive tape to the back so it was easy to add the little stones to the front of my house. I coloured them in using Copic markers. I die cut the grass strip and added that to the side of my house.

I used MFT - Spring Gnomes stamp set and added the flowers to the grass strip. I stamped the images with Pink Fresh Studios Detail Black Ink and coloured the images in with Copic markers.

I did the same with the little gnomes that I added to the card. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set on to black cardstock, with VersaMark Ink and white embossing powder.

I used Karen Burniston's Oval - Crosshatch to add a place to sign the card.

For the front of the card, I added the same patterned paper as the inside of the card. Then I added two ovals, one from the floral patterned paper and one from smooth white cardstock.

I added more stamped images to the front and then added another sentiment from the Spring Gnomes stamp set.

I love how adorable that Mushroom house turned out. I think it was my first time using it too, which is hard to believe!

I have listed below all the supplies I used to make this card, but unfortunately, My Favorite Things does not allow anyone outside the USA to be part of their affiliate program, so their products aren't listed. They are available on their website if you are interested in the Spring Gnomes stamp set. Thank you so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

Easter Wreath Pop-Up Card

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome! If you are part of the Karen Burniston Pop-Up Peeps Facebook page then you know who Ken Chien is and his amazing pop-up creations. Well I tried out his wreath idea only I used an Easter theme for my wreath!

For this card, I started with an A2 sized card base using a pretty yellow cardstock from Simon Says Stamps called Lemon Chiffon. Then I added the patterned paper background. This is an Easter paper from Carta Bella called Here Comes Easter.

I die cut 6 pop-up mechanisms from the Flip Frame Pop-Up using the same yellow cardstock as the card base. I followed Ken's great video on how to assemble them which you can watch by clicking here. I used Lineco Neutral pH adhesive in a fine tip bottle to glue them down.

I then used the Flower Pot Pop-Up, Fun Flowers and Flower Pot Add-On to cut all my flowers out of different pastel shades of cardstock. I added some Simon Says Stamps Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Sunbeam, Sweets, Surf and Orchid to the centres of my flowers to add some dimension.

I also die cut the eggs using the Easter Charms and added the detail to them with Copic markers. I die cut several leaves from three shades of green cardstock.

I then began assembling the wreath, making sure as I went that the card would close properly and that nothing was sticking out of the sides.

Lastly, I die cut the Happy Easter sentiment from Karen Burniston's Happy Easter die from pink and black cardstock. I die cut the black twice to bulk up the sentiment so it wouldn't flop when attached to the wreath. Then I glued the sentiment on.

For the front of the card, I added the watering can from Lawn Fawn, die cutting it from a dark gray cardstock and coloring in some detail with Copic markers.

I added more flowers and leaves as well as the last two eggs I had.

I then added the banner with Love You Lots on it, which is also from Lawn Fawn.

This is a very unique way to use the Flip Frame Pop-Up and I will definitely be doing this again, maybe with a Halloween theme!! The possibilities are endless!

Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - March 2025 - Lake or Ocean

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome! It's time for our monthly Designer Challenge and our theme this month was Lake or Ocean. I felt like I had done several ocean themed cards, so I decided to go with a lake themed card this time. For this card, I used the Boat Pop-Up along with the new Fishing Boat Add-Ons to create this tranquil scene.

To start, I created my card base using Lawn Fawn Ground Coffee card stock. I created an A2 sized card base and added an additional rectangle to it so it became three parts.

I then created my backgrounds. For the lake, I used Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean. I also used my MFT - Perfect Pool Water Stencil. For the sky background, I used Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers and MFT - Clouds stencil.

I die cut the tree line background using Karen Burniston's Long Nature Edges and smooth white cardstock. I then used Simon Says Stamps Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Sprout, Fairway and Field to create the grass hill. Then I used Copic markers to color in the trees. I glued this to my background using Lineco Neutral pH adhesive in a fine tip bottle.

I then created my boat using a light weight kraft cardstock. I added the Fishing Boat Add-Ons following along with Sandy Dillers fantastic tutorial on YouTube, which you can find by click here

I colored in the fish with Copic markers as well as the fishing hat. I die cut the motor from a mirror silver  cardstock as well as the bucket. I also die cut the fishing pole and colored that in as well.

I added the backgrounds to my card base, then added the boat. Once I had that in place, I used some scrap cardstock to create a dock in front of the boat.

I then added some more fish and the cattails border which is from Lawn Fawn to the bottom of my card.

I stamped the sentiments to my card using Karen Burniston's Fishing Phrases clear sentiment stamp set and Pink Fresh Studios black ink.

I kept the front of my card very simple, adding some patterned paper, some circles and stamping another sentiment, this time using Karen Burniston's Sail Away Sentiments.

This will be a perfect card Fathers Day card for any man who loves to camp or fish.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!
