Happy Bee-Day using Karen Burniston's Lorna Label

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome! My card for you today features Karen Burniston's Lorna Label die set. This is a new release die that was part of the February spring release. Along with the Lorna Label die set, I also used the Flutter Charms and Fun Flowers!

For this card, I started with and A2 top fold card base using Neenah Classic Crest 110lb smooth white cardstock. I recently purchased this beautiful patterned paper pack from Echo Park called "Bee Happy" and let me tell you, this gorgeous paper really makes me happy! I couldn't wait to use it. I added a black thin cardstock to the background to really make the patterned paper pop.

I die cut the Lorna Label pop-up mechanism from the same thin black cardstock (65lb). Then using the accompanying dies in the set, die cut a yellow and white piece for the centre. I also die cut the yellow banner that goes along with bottom of the pop-up. I tried to use a bright yellow cardstock for this. This was just some scrap cardstock I had. I save all my scraps just for this purpose.

I then die cut the squares for the base of the card and to create an area to sign this card. I used Karen Burniston's Square - Crosshatch dies in the largest and second largest dies. I used the same yellow and white cardstock for this.

I die cut the sentiment using Karen Burniston's Word Set 2 - Birthday die set. I used a glossy black cardstock. I had to do some "word surgery" to create the word "Bee".

I then used Karen Burniston's Flutter Charms, Fun Flowers and the largest flower die from her Flower Pot Pop-Up die set and die cut all the bees, flowers, etc. I used smooth heavy weight white cardstock and colored all the pieces in using Copic markers.

For the front of the card, I used a stamped sentiment from gina K Designs called "Beautiful Bees".

I continued the same design on the front of the card, only adding some honey comb to the top and bottom corners.

I added Glitter gel to the daisy flower petals and I also added Glossy Accents to the bees bodies to give them some added dimension.

I just love how this card turned out. Those little bees are adorable!!

Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting! Also, I have a YouTube channel, so be sure to check out how I make this cards step by step. I also will be posting how to videos as well, such as how to take the amazing animal dies that Karen Burniston has and create clothes or turn them into other things, like I did in my tea cup Alice in Wonderland card.
