Karen Burniston March 2024 Designer Challenge - Bunny Ears!

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome! It's the start of March (can you believe it??) and that means it's Designer Challenge time once again. For the month of March, Karen Burniston challenged us to create a card with bunnies in it. So for my card, I used the Family Room Pop-Up to create a cute scene with the Easter Bunny hiding eggs for Easter morning.

For this card, I started with an A2 sized card base using heavy weight (110lb) smooth white cardstock. I dug through my patterned paper packs and found this white wood floor paper, which I used for the livingroom floor. I then found this great pink striped paper which I used for the couch and chair pop-up pieces. I followed Karens video on YouTube to put the pop-up pieces together and add them to my card, as this was my first time using this die set.

Then I found some cute Easter paper with small bunny faces and carrots. I used this to create the pillows for the couch and chair. Then I used Karen Burniston's Picnic Elements to create a blanket to add to the couch.

I created the lamp using mirrored silver cardstock and a patterned paper scrap I had on hand. I used the same patterned paper to create a rug on the floor.

I die cut the bunny, basket, eggs and larger eggs from smooth white cardstock, then colored everything in using Copic markers. I put everything together, then added it the card, hiding the eggs around the furniture. Then I added some glitter gel to the larger hidden eggs.

I then used Karen Burniston's new Easter Borders to create the egg borders on either side of my card.

I die cut the sentiment "Happy Easter" using pink cardstock and Karen Burniston's Easter Charms die set. I added some dark pink Distress Oxide Ink to the bottom of the sentiment to make it pop.

I stamped a smaller sentiment on the bottom of the card using a stamp set from Lawn Fawn called Eggstra Amazing Easter.

For the front of my card, I kept it simple. I used the same patterned paper that I used for the couch and chair. Then, using Karen Burniston's Oval - Crosshatch dies, I added some ovals to the front.

I die cut some bunnies from the Easter Borders die set and added them around the ovals.

I had to do some word surgery to make my sentiment on the front, but it came out great! I used the Mini Alphabet dies to create the word "Bunny". For this I used a dark pink cardstock and a sparkly white cardstock.

Thank you so much for stopping by today for our Designer Challenge. Be sure to check out the new release from Karen Burniston at www.karenburniston.com. Happy Crafting!
