Tri-Fold Twist Flower Pop-Up Card

Hello Crafty Friends and Welcome! My card today was created for Craft Roulette. It's been quite a while since I played along with Craft Roulette, but I finally had some free time to join in the fun. The parameters this week were:

  • Project - Tri-Fold Card
  • Color - Sleigh Ride
  • Element - Joke(s) or Funny
  • Random - Out of Proportion
For my card, I created an A2 sized tri-fold card using a cream cardstock, then I also added Karen Burniston's Twist Flower Pop-Up to the inside.

I picked a green floral and brown with gold polka dots patterned paper for this card. This represents the sleigh ride colors.

I had this funny Mothers Day stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called Sassy Mama and I thought this would be perfect for the "funny" element for this card. I stamped the front sentiment on to heavy weight (110lb) black cardstock using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder.

I then die cut a label from Karen Burniston's Lorna Label die set and stamped the inside sentiment on to it using Lawn Fawn's Jet Black Ink.

I wanted to add a surprise to this card, so I used Karen Burniston's Twist Flower Pop-Up and added two flowers to the inside of the card. I die cut these from heavy weight white cardstock and colored them in with Copic markers.

I also die cut the leaves from heavy weight white cardstock and colored them in the same way. I added circles to the centres of each flowers, coloring them in with brown Copic markers.

I die cut the pop-up mechanisms from the same cardstock as the card base, but I think next time will die cut them from the same paper as the background or add the background paper to the pop-up mechanisms.

Lastly, I added a band of red flowers to the front small panel. I colored these the same way as the inside flowers.

This is such a cool card and I just love the pop-up surprise in the inside of the card.

I also love the funny sentiment on this card. This is going to be my Mom's Mother's Day card and I think she will think it's beautiful and hilarious.

Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
