Hello Crafty Friends and welcome! I have a beautiful card for you today. I created an Easel fold card using Spellbinders Large Die of the Month for January 2025, called Botanical Atrium.
For this card, I started with an A2 sized top fold card. I scored the card stock at 5.5" and 2.25" on the front flap. I used my bone folder to get a good crisp fold.
I then die cut all my flowers and pieces to create the Botanical Atrium. I used scrap card stock that I saved. For this card, I didn't colour my die cuts like I normally do, so it didn't take as much time but still looks great! I die cut the larger flowers twice to give them some dimension. I glued everything together using Lineco Neutral pH adhesive in a fine tip bottle.
Once I had everything cut and ready to go, I began coming up with a design for the flowers and leaves. I then glued everything down. I die cut the atrium twice from black card stock and glued them together. Then I glued the atrium on top of my flowers.
For the background, I chose a dark blue card stock and added a trim with my hot foil Glimmer machine. I used Spellbinders Essential Duo Lines Rectangles and a holographic foil. I also created a sentiment for the front of the card using Spellbinders Yana's Special Sentiments hot foil plate and black foil.
I glued the atrium to the background paper and then glued the front down only to the 2.25" fold in the front. This will allow the card to fold and become an Easel card.
I added the same background to the inside of the card. I also added a .75" piece of black card stock which I doubled up. I added a sentiment to the black strip from MFT called More Essential Sentiments. This will hold the card front up perfectly!
