I created this card for my son's upcoming August birthday. He loves going to the movies, especially getting the snacks. Lol. So I thought this would be the perfect card for him!
I started with an A2 sized card base using light weight black cardstock. I die cut the Whirly Wheel mechanisms from heavy weight smooth black cardstock. I used a size 10 white Gelly Pen to make the arrows on the wheel. There is a stamp set that you can use to stamp the arrows on, but I just used the die as a stencil and drew them on. I put the wheel mechanism together (check out my YouTube video below on how I made this card), then glued it to my card base where it needed to go.
I used movie themed paper from Simple Stories called Say Cheese Tinseltown as my background paper. Then I added a strip of star patterned paper from the same paper pack. I die cut a slit near the top of the paper for my whirly wheel arm to come through. Then glued it to my card base.
I added stars to the whirly wheel arm and then used the Numbers die to die cut 10 to add to the biggest star. I made sure I tested the mechanism before I continued.
I used the new Movie Charms and Movie Night sentiment stamp to create the sentiments on the front of the card. I also used the Birthday/Belated stamp set as well. I used small pictures of my son to add to the film reel.
For the inside of the card, I continued the same paper theme. Adding another film reel and more pictures. Then I used the Flower Pot Pop-Up and Popcorn die to create the box of popcorn. I used the Flower Pot Add-On to make the base for the box of popcorn.
I added another Movie Night sentiment to another star and added it to the card. Then I used more of the Movie Charms to add some decorations to the inside of my card.
I just love how this card turned out and I think my son will be very excited to see this card. Especially all the fun pictures I used for his birthday card. Below is a video on all the steps I took to make this card.
