Hello Crafty Friends and Welcome! My card today was created for Craft Roulette Episode 189. The parameters for this week were:
Project - A2
Colors - Forest Colors
Element - Start with "H"
Random - Postage Stamp or Mark
So for my card, I created a winter forest scene using My Favorite Things - Dashing Deer stamp set along with My Favorite Things - Birch Tree dies.
I started with an A2 sized card base using dark blue cardstock from Hero Arts. Then I die cut a rectangle from Neenah Classic Crest smooth white heavy weight cardstock and MFT - A2 Stitched Rectangle dies in the largest size. I used this as my background. I used Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire to create my winter sky. Once dry, I flicked Copic Opaque paint to it to create a snowy sky.
I then die cut two pieces for snowy hills to go in the background. I die cut the birch trees and colored them in using Copic markers.
I then stamped my images using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I colored all my little animals and foliage using Copic markers. I die cut them images out using the corresponding dies. Then I glued everything where I wanted it.
I die cut a frame to go around my card using MFT - Stitched Rectangle Frames. I also die cut the postage stamp edges using Karen Burniston's Border Blends - Trims. I glued these on to the edge of my frame to create a postage stamp look. Then I added foam tape to the back of my frame and added it to my card.
Lastly, I added Glossy Accents to the berries on the plants and on to the animals noses. I also added some Glitter Gel to the scarves and hats. Finally, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Glossy White to the trees to add some snow to the branches and trunks.
I stamped my sentiment using VersaMark ink on to smooth black cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
I love how this Christmas card came out. This week we had fantastic parameters! Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
