My card for you today features the tea cups from the new Tea and Coffee Pop-Up to create this Alice in Wonderland themed card.
For this card, I started with an A2 sized card base using black cardstock. I die cut three rectangles using the Rectangles - Crosshatch dies. Then using a checker board stencil and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink, I created the chess board background. I added Distress Ink in Vintage Photo around the edges to create an aged look to the backgrounds.
Then I spent an entire day creating all my Alice in Wonderland characters. This was a lot of piecing die cuts together, creating clothing and altering some of the die cut characters. But to summarize, the Red Queen and Alice uses the Princess die set. The Card Guards use the playing cards from the Game Charms. The Mad Hatter was created using the Knight die and added the Hat from the Tiny Accessories 1. The Cheshire Cat is from the Cat and Dog die set and last but not least, the rabbit is from the Spring Animals die set.
I used the Flip Frame Pop-Up for this card. I die cut three tea cups using the new Tea and Coffee Pop-Up. I cut these using different colored cardstock and added some detail using Simon Says Stamps Pawsitively Saturated ink in corresponding colors.
For the inside of the card, I added the sentiment "un-birthday to you". I had to do some word surgery to create this, but it went with the theme of the card.
I added the tea pot border using the new Tea and Coffee Borders.
For the front of the card, I added another tea cup and die cut the steam from an heavy weight opaque vellum.
If you would like to see how I created all the animals, let me know. I would love to make a how to video on how I did this.
