For my card, I decided to use the Postage Pop-Up to create this fun postcard envelope card! I used the new Special Delivery sentiment stamp along with the Birthday/Belated sentiment stamp to create the front of my card.
For the card, I created an A2 card base using an 80lb smooth white cardstock. Then I cut a piece of light blue textured cardstock that I had in my scrap 51/4 x 4in. I used Waffle Flower's Postage Collage Stencil and Distress Oxide Ink in Chipped Sapphire and Candied Apple to create the postage mark down the side of the card front.
Then from red cardstock, I die cut the word POSTCARD using Karen Burniston's Mini Alphabet and Numbers. I added a stamp to the front by trimming one of the stamps from the Postage Pop-Up. I masked up the edges of the postage stamp and then added a background using Simon Says Stamps Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Bubblegum and Sweets. Then I added a cupcake using the small cupcake die from Karen Burniston's new Photo Fan Pop-Up.
I drew lines on to the postcard with a fine tip pen, then stamped several sentiments from the Birthday/Belated and Special Delivery sentiment stamps. I also used two stamps from Waffle Flower's Postage Collage - Fall stamp set, which are the 25 cent on the stamp and the express under the word Postcard.
I created the card to actually look like an envelope. To do this, I created a flap to look like an ordinary envelope, then used thin magnets to keep the card closed. I added two blue circles which came from Karen Burniston's Mini Gift Bag die set. Then I stamped the "Special Delivery" onto the front blue circle using the Special Delivery sentiment stamp set. I used two thin magnets for this card, because I knew the inside would be a bit bulky with the Postage Pop-Up inside. The magnets work perfectly!
For the inside of my card, I die cut the Postage Pop-Up from light blue cardstock, then die cut the long pull mechanism from the pattern paper I used for the background. I trimmed off the tabs from the patterned paper pull mechanism and glued it on to my light blue pull mechanism.
Once I had the mechanism in the card, I die cut the Postage Pop-Up stamp piece from smooth white 80lb cardstock and masked off the areas so I could use a stencil to decorate. I used the same Waffle Flower Postage Collage Stencil and various SSS Pawsitively Saturated inks to create fun backgrounds for each area.
Then I die cut birthday items using Karen Burniston's Birthday Charms and Big Birthday Charms. I die cut these all from smooth white cardstock and colored them in with Copic markers. I added Glossy Accents to the balloons and chocolate icing on my slice of cake.
I stamped a sentiment onto one stamp using the new Sweet Treats sentiment stamp set using Lawn Fawn's Jet Black Ink.
I added the background from the Happy Birthday Lorna Label Add-On and some scrap yellow, pink and blue cardstock. Then I added two cupcakes to complete the card. These were from the Cupcake Add-On, which fit perfectly for my card!
I just love the new Postage Pop-Up! It can really be used for any occasion! Thank you so much for stopping by on our Blog Hop Day!
