Hello Crafty Friends and welcome! It's Designer Challenge time once again and our theme this month is Christmas Cheer. When I think of Christmas, yes I think of family, food and fun, but I also think about my kids playing in the snow, hot chocolate and some of our favorite Christmas movies. Also, my Dad taking me ice skating and tobogganing on Christmas break.
For my card, I used the new Postage Pop-Up to create this wintery Christmas card. I also used the new Snow Charms!
I started with an A2 sized card base using a smooth white cardstock. I then used this snowflake sweater patterned paper as my background! This is from Echo Park and it's called Snowed In.
I die cut the Postage Pop-Up and the pop-up mechanism from the same smooth white cardstock as the card base (Neenah Classic Crest 110lb smooth white cardstock). I added the pop-up mechanism to my card using Lineco Neutral pH adhesive in a fine tip bottle.
I wanted to create a stencilled background on my Postage Pop-Up, so I masked off the postage piece with removable Pixie tape. Then I used Simon Says Stamps Pawsitively Saturated Ink in Seafoam, Surf and Ocean. I also used Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Pool. For my stencil, I used MFT - Winter Stencil Strips.
I die cut the Snow Charms from smooth white cardstock and colored them in with Copic markers. I added a sentiment stamp using the new Winter Hugs sentiment stamp set.
For the front of my card, I added the same patterned paper background, only adding a strip of snowy background paper down the middle. I added another postage piece and this time added another sentiment from the new Winter Hugs sentiment stamp set.
I also wanted to add some hot chocolate, so I die cut a mug border using the Tea and Coffee Borders. I trimmed out two mugs and colored them red with Copic markers. Then I die cut the little steam pieces and glued them to the backs of the mugs. I drew little snowflakes on the front and added them to my postage piece. Lastly, I used MFT - Elegant Folded Banner and Lawn Fawn's Winter Wavy Sayings to add the "Let it Snow" sentiment to the front.
I just love how this card turned out! It makes me want to grab my warmest blanket, a cup of hot chocolate and my favorite Christmas movie! This is one of three cards I created in my latest YouTube video which will be uploaded Wednesday, November 6th.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Be sure to check out the other fantastic creations by our talented Design Team. Happy Crafting!
Love your card
