Hello Crafty Friends and welcome. I know it's been a while and I am very sorry I haven't posted in such a long time. Unfortunately, I haven't been well. In the past couple of months, I've had two stomach infections and then ended up in the Emergency department near the beginning of April. I ended up with a rare condition called omentum infarction. A piece of tissue that wraps around the intestines twisted and lost blood supply. It can mimic appendicitis and it's extremely painful. My omentum is now no longer viable. Thankfully, I didn't need surgery, but I did need rest. This has been very strange for me, as I am not one to sit still for very long, but honestly, it was needed.
But I am back at it and happy to get back in my office and making cards. My card for you today uses Karen Burniston's Cupcake Pop-Up. I added some cute mouse stamps from My Favourite Things called Mice Day to Celebrate!
I started with an A2 top fold card base using some great Spellbinders cardstock (my new favourite!!). I went through my patterned paper stack but couldn't find something I really liked, so I made my own. I used some smooth white cardstock and a layering stencil from Pretty Pink Posh called Layered Birthday Cake Stencil. I added some ink from Simon Says Stamps (everything is listed below).
I die cut the pop-up mechanism from my patterned paper. Because I have two separate sheets of cardstock for the background and not one solid sheet, it cuts the pop up in half. So I die cut the cupcake from pink cardstock and trimmed it out. Then I folded it on the fold lines and added it to patterned paper.
I die cut the cupcake and wrapper from smooth white cardstock, then coloured everything in with Copic markers. I also did the same to the little cupcake and wrapper.
I glued the candles and the wrapper to the frosting, then glued the cupcake to my card.
I die cut the red banner using Karens Greeting Labels and stamped the "Hip Hip Hooray!" sentiment using VersaMark Ink and white embossing powder. Then I glued that into the card.
I cut a piece of darker pink cardstock, the used MFT - Stitched Basic Edges 2 dies to create the scalloped edges. For the top piece, I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark Ink and black embossing powder. Then I glued both pieces into the card.
I stamped my images using Pink Fresh Studios Detail Black Ink and coloured them in with Copic markers. I used the corresponding dies to cut the images out, then added some to the inside of my card. I also added a label to sign the card.
For the front of the card, I added some more of the stencilled paper I made. Then used Karen's Banners - Crosshatch die to add a fun front to my card. I added some more stamped images and used the larger banner in the Greeting Labels die set to add a sentiment to the front of my card.
I thought this card turned out pretty cute. I love how the mice work so well with the cupcake pop-up. Thank you so much for stopping by today, below is a list of the supplies that I used to make this card. Happy Crafting!
