Karen Burniston February 2024 New Release - Sneak Peek Week Day 1: Beach Elements

Hello Crafty Friends and welcome to day one of Karen Burniston's February 2024 New Release! This new release consists of 12 new fantastic dies! The new release will be available for purchase on February 19th!

For my first Sneak Peek card, I used the new Beach Elements die set to create this rainy day card.

For this card, I started with a 5 x 5 card base, using a bright yellow cardstock. I then cut out three square pieces from smooth white cardstock that fit just slightly smaller than the card base (4.875 x 4.875). I used Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Faded Jeans to create my backgrounds. Once dry, I used a rain drop stencil from Spellbinders and VersaMark ink along with clear embossing powder to create the look of raindrops.

I then used Karen Burniston's Katherine Label Pop-Up to create the pop-up for the inside of the card. I used a light blue cardstock for the pop-up mechanism. I then added a label to it using the same yellow cardstock as the card base. I also added a second label from the die set and made the same background as the card. I added the sentiment "Thinking of You" from Word Set 10 - Thinking of You, using a glitter cardstock with a black cardstock background.

I die cut the tree from the Tree Pop-Up die set using smooth white cardstock and colored it in with Copic markers. I used the Woodland Animals die set to create a fox and squirrel. I die cut these animals twice from smooth white cardstock. One die cut I colored with Copic markers to create the animals. The second die cuts, I created rain coats, by penciling in the coat and cutting it out with my scissors. Then I colored in the coats with Copic markers and glued them to the animals.

I used the grass die from the Nature Edges die set. Then I stamped the sentiment on to the grass using Spellbinders - I've Got You Covered stamp set.

I die cut the clouds from two different die sets, the Castle Pop-Up and Landscape Scene. I used Copic markers to create the rain clouds.

For the front of the card, I used the Umbrella from the new Beach Elements.

I also used the animals from the Safari Animals die set, also creating them rain coats like I did for the inside of the card.

I added more rain clouds and little spring flowers to the grass.

I am so proud of this card. It turned out so beautifully and those little animals in their rain coats just make me smile.

Thank you so much for stopping by on for the start of Sneak Peek Week. Be sure to check every day for the next card. Happy Crafting!
